Progress Skateboard Camp Midder
Progress Skateboard Camp Midder: Five Days Full of Skateboarding and Progress
The five-day Progress Skateboard Camp Midder brought plenty of skateboarding, training, new tricks, and significant progress. During the camp, the participants visited skateparks in Prešov, Poprad, Martin, Pribylina, and Dolný Kubín. The program also included an active rest day in the Liptov region.
This was a record-breaking camp in terms of both the number of participants and coaches. The riders were divided into groups according to their skill level, and throughout the camp they worked on individual progression – from basic techniques to more advanced tricks on rails, boxes, and ramps.
Prešov and Poprad
The first day took the group to the skateparks in Prešov and Poprad. Ideal weather and plenty of space allowed everyone to focus fully on training.
After a longer break from skateboarding, Dorotka returned with a strong performance. She landed an ollie over three skateboards and rode the down rail in both Prešov and Poprad.
Nicolka made significant progress with drops. She successfully landed a drop from a steep quarter pipe in Prešov and later a drop from a box into a bank.
Ninka improved her boardslides and took on a higher rail than she was used to riding in Pribylina. She also added a drop from a banked wall.
Mišo from L.M. also worked on a boardslide on a higher rail. Although the trick was not yet fully consistent, the attempts showed clear progress.
Filip from Banská Bystrica also had a very successful day. In Prešov, he landed an ollie from the second step, while in Poprad he comfortably cleared the grass gap. He also landed drops from banked walls and added several boardslides.
Maxo Strelecký landed a noseslide on a wall from a bank, while Maxo Pavella worked on 50-50 grinds on a down ledge.
Zara landed a heelflip and added a long boardslide on a flat rail in Prešov. Matias, who was attending the camp for the first time, impressed with his skill level and confidence on a skateboard.
Progress in Martin
The following day was spent at the Martin skatepark, where intensive training continued.
One of the highlights was Zara, who landed a kickflip from a box into a drop. She successfully repeated the trick several times.
Dorotka landed a blunt to fakie on a small quarter pipe and continued riding the down rail.
Filip added a clean 50-50 grind on a box, landing from a higher level directly onto the concrete.
Teo landed a boardslide across the entire rail and continued working on improving the trick.
Eugen performed a combination of rock to fakie followed by a halfcab back into the quarter pipe.
Robin landed a kickflip on flat ground, receiving plenty of support from the other riders.
Kiko from Chrenovec worked hard on his heelflips while also improving his line on the small quarter pipe.
Miško Duchovný landed a backside 5-0 grind on a small quarter pipe.
Significant progress was also visible from Ninka, who improved her ollie and learned to smoothly pump through the park. She was already able to transition from a quarter pipe onto the flat with a small ollie.
Maťko from Liptovský Mikuláš, who had been skateboarding for the shortest amount of time in the group, managed to build up enough speed to clear the entire A-frame.
Nicolka later landed a rock to fakie on a large quarter pipe in the Martin skatepark without assistance.
Active Rest in Liptov
After several demanding days of skateboarding, the group had an active rest day. They visited the developing skatepark in Liptovský Mikuláš, which was already starting to take shape.
The group then moved to the Demänovská Valley, where participants could try a professional trampoline, slackline, balance boards, Indo Board, badminton, and workout activities. The day continued with swimming at Liptovská Mara and an evening skate session at a mini ramp.
Martin and Pribylina
After the rest day, the group returned to skateboarding. Training continued in Martin, with many new tricks added to the riders' progress.
Ninka landed an ollie over two skateboards from a quarter pipe and was already close to clearing three.
Dorotka added a 50-50 grind on a rail and began working on lipslides.
Oliver landed a tre flip on flat ground.
Nicol and Naty both landed clean 50-50 grinds on an A-frame rail without assistance.
Zara added a kickflip from a quarter pipe onto the flat and, together with Eugen, Mišo, and other riders, worked on blunt to fakie attempts.
Filip continued working on noseslides.
Teo landed a boardslide to fakie and worked on popping into frontside boardslides.
Maťko continued progressing on the A-frame rail and landed it cleanly without assistance.
The group then moved to Pribylina, where the riders faced a smaller but technically more demanding concrete skatepark.
Maxo Strelecký landed a frontside 50-50 grind across the entire flat section and down ledge.
Miško once again showed confidence with boardslides on the rail.
Zara worked on a fakie 360 flip and came very close to landing it.
Final Day in Dolný Kubín
The final day of the camp took place in Dolný Kubín. Despite the fatigue after four intense days of skating, the participants continued pushing themselves and working on their final challenges.
Teo, Kubo, and other riders landed ollies and manuals. Zara added a heelflip on the A-frame.
Nicolka landed a rock to fakie in the mini U-ramp with a tailstop.
Many other tricks and successful attempts were added throughout the final day, highlighting the progress each rider had made during the camp.
After the final skate session, the camp concluded with a group evaluation and awards for the participants. The five-day Progress Skateboard Camp Midder combined intensive skateboard training with skatepark trips, active rest, and shared experiences.
Throughout the camp, the riders skated different types of skateparks and obstacles, allowing them to work on ollies, kickflips, heelflips, boardslides, grinds, drops, and more advanced tricks on ramps and rails.
The most important result of the five days, however, was not simply the number of new tricks. The riders gained confidence, the courage to try new things, and valuable experience that they can use in their future training.
Progress Skateboard Camp Midder therefore wrapped up five days full of skateboarding, movement, progression, and a strong sense of community. The participants left with plenty of new skills and experiences, as well as motivation to keep pushing their skateboarding forward.
