Hi, my name is Matej, and I have been skateboarding for almost 10 years. Over that time, it has become much more than just a sport for me – it has become an inseparable part of my life. I dedicate most of my free time to riding, improving my skills, and discovering new challenges because skateboarding is where creativity, discipline, and constant progress come together.
Currently, I work as a coach at 3StyleAcademy, where I lead training sessions in Zvolen and Banská Bystrica. My goal is to pass on my experience, help riders develop their skills, and create an environment where they can grow not only as athletes but also as individuals. I believe that everyone has their own style and pace of progression, which is why I strive to approach each person individually.
My journey is also special because it started at Progress Skateboard Camps, which I once attended as a participant. That was where I gained my first valuable experiences, motivation, and an even greater passion for skateboarding. After years of riding, gaining experience, and progressing myself, I returned during the last two years – this time as an instructor. For me, this is both a huge motivation and an opportunity to give back and share what I have learned throughout the years.
Throughout my skateboarding journey, I have had the opportunity to participate in various competitions and events, where I achieved several successes. My accomplishments include winning the Mini Ramp category at JUNIOR RIPPIN, earning 2nd place at Poprad Bowl Sesh 2021, 1st place at Junior RIPPIN 2022, and receiving Best Trick awards at Skatepark Detva Cup in 2023 and 2024. These achievements represent more than just results to me – they are a reflection of years of dedication, hard work, and continuously pushing my own limits.
For me, skateboarding is much more than tricks and competitions. It represents progress, community, discipline, and constantly pushing boundaries. Every new trick, every obstacle overcome, and every experience helps me grow – not only as a skateboarder, but also as a person.
